In Which the Robin Gets a Second Chance

You may remember the story from earlier in the summer. A mama robin made a really awesome nest in our yard from scratch, and she laid two pretty blue eggs in it. But sadly, the nest was attacked, one of the eggs destroyed, the other abandoned.

I am happy to report the latest news. The mama robin has been hard at work, and she has built an even BETTER nest in a much higher and safer spot. The nest is large and robust and strong, a perfect home for baby birds.

When I walked into the yard on this morning, I spied an orange/brown color on the nest, and indeed it was the mama robin herself sitting there quite proudly. I do not know yet if there are blue eggs or live babies yet, but we are all grateful for this second chance. Good luck, Mama!
