Scout Scar

By the afternoon the wind from Storm Hector had died down enough for us to brave the ridge on Scout Scar with friends from Rossendale over for the day.  Second from right in extras is Rachel who was our very treasured nanny to R&M for 7 years.  Rachel and her parents looked after R while M was born ( at home in a water bath - although R is now much better at swimming then M!)  They sheltered in the look out  while we waited for M to arrive,  having run from the house  and then up the 200m escarpment. He describes it as varied a 13k circuit! We had driven to a carpark 98% of the way to the top. The trees clearly show which way the wind was blowing on the top.
