Fireman Chris!

What could be sillier!
It was Harden Children's Gala this afternoon and I was asked to take photographs for the archive.

There were a few spots of rain as the parade participants gathered at the top of the village but it was mainly fine and warm so not as predicted.

After taking lots of photos of the children in costume for the walking tableau and recording the winners in various categories, I was told to go and get on the Harden Players' bus which was leading the parade to take photos from there. Quite a different perspective and great fun waving at the spectators. See Wilsden Walker

A few more spots of rain around three and with all the show field delights photographed and Chris finished on his stint we headed home. The sun had been hot and everyone was saying how the forecast had been wrong but at 4.00 pm the heavens opened. A shame but a good couple of hours had allowed everyone to enjoy themselves. Sunny again now.

Chris certainly did. This ride replaced the train we used to have. He dressed up as the Fat Controller then but everyone was too PC to call him that including the children. He didn't mind!

All over for another year, long may it continue and maybe next year we will be able to take Eda.
