Ducks in Daisies

I had a very nice walk along the canal this morning with the ladies but the battery went on my camera!

Got home expecting to get stuck into exam standardising straight after breakfast but I had received a message to say the two standardising days are now tomorrow and Sunday.

An unexpected opportunity to get out. We went to Cartwright Hall Art Gallery in Bradford to catch the exhibition of items from the Prince of Wales - later Edward VII's tour of India in the late 19th century.
The exhibition is called 'Splendours of the Subcontinent' and I had intended going when it was first announced. It finishes on Sunday so we just made it. Wonderful items on display and as long as flash wasn't used you were allowed to photograph them. I've put a Flickr album together if you wish to see it - here
The next exhibition is to celebrate David Hockney's 80th birthday. He was inspired by visits to Cartwright Hall as a child. No doubt we will get around to seeing that with days to spare before it finishes. It opens on the 7th July two days before his birthday.

There has been bright and warm spells today and cloudy ones too but we walked around the boating lake in Lister Park and had a coffee in the cafe.
There were masses of birds on the lake. Canada Geese, Grelyag Geese, Tufted ducks and Mallards plus gulls. Absolutely no young to be  seen. There were two juveniles with long beaks and I had seen one goose that looked like an Egyptian so I wondered if that's what they were.

I loved the daisies on the hillside between the hall and the lake and it seemed that the birds did too. Here you can see 3 Mallards having a snooze amongst the daisies. Thought this would be good for Flower Friday.

Have a good weekend everyone, sounds like it could be a good one in the UK
