Africa Oyé - Day 2

Back over to Sefton Park today for more excellent music (and a bit more work-related activity) at the Africa Oyé festival.

Today I got to see:

Nifeco Costa from Guinea-Bissau
Son Yambu from Cuba
Lura from Cape Verde
Orchestre Poly-Rythmo from Benin
Inner Circle from Jamaica

All of them were great and it’s hard to pick a musical favourite but the star, from a photographic perspective, was undoubtedly today’s Blip subject, Lura. What she doesn’t know about charismatic stagecraft probably isn’t worth knowing!

There’s another picture of her in Extras, along with a few more shots from the day. You can see even more at https://www.flickr.com/photos/129535142@N04/

And here she is performing ‘Sabi Di Más’ https://youtube.com/watch?v=31eeFAM6wu8
