Camouflaged

This is why our daughter won't step off the deck.  Our Garter Snakes are friendly insect eaters and completely harmless but they still give her the creeps.  Pipersdad found several babies when he was working in the yard but by the time I got outside, they had hidden themselves.  He said they were about the size of a small pencil.  This one was about 18 inches long and about 1 inch at it's thickest.  I like them SO much better than wasps!! 

I am grateful for a relaxing, yet productive day.  :-)
