The good old days

We drove to Taynuilt this afternoon and called in at a friend's nursery. There are a number of semi-derelict cottages around the Bonawe Ironworks and this is one of them.

We went on to the Glen Lonan tunnels to do a bit of weeding and were astonished at the amount of growth. Admittedly it's been more than a month since I planted out the sprouted runner bean seeds and now they're almost all at the top of the poles! Spuds are growing well and onions fattening up.

We came back through the glen as we sometimes do - that slow, first gear drive - and enjoyed the view over the village of Taynuilt, with the converted church, the quarry and the rainstorm gathering in upper Glen Etive.
