Sun, Sand, and Sisters: Atlantic City!

On Wednesday morning, my sister and I took a one-day bus trip from Harrisburg and spent a day at the beach in Atlantic City. The weather was perfect, the sky was blue, and it was totally delightful! It's hard to believe it's been a whole year since we'd visited the ocean.

We did all the usual things: ate lunch at the Irish Pub, spent some time in the shops, people-watched, played the slots, and walked in the ocean in our bare feet. It was awesome and we had such fun. Sun, sand, and sisters time - priceless!

The shot above is my older sister walking from under the boardwalk onto the beach. In the background is the famous Steel Pier. I thought the photo captured some of the fun of a summer's day at the ocean. (Some of you will remember the triumph of our first return to the beach after my sister's miraculous recovery from near death a few years back.)

The big treat of our day (one of many) was riding The Wheel on the Steel Pier. There used to be a smaller ferris wheel, which provided fine views. The new one they added over winter 2017/18 is even bigger and better! You can see a bit of the Wheel to the top right in the shot above; a better view is available in the extras.

After a wonderful day, our bus dropped us off back in Harrisburg, and my sister and I returned to the hotel where we were staying. The nearby Capitol Diner, an old-fashioned, colorful spot, was practically shining out in the darkness and I just had to snap a few photos; diner lovers, check the extras for a shot.

A song for the photo above: The Drifters, with Under the Boardwalk.
