Sun-Fly

I do like Hoverflies. There are so many different ones, mostly beautifully patterned. Apparently they eat lots of nasties in the garden. And they stay still - you just have to ask one to keep still whilst you take a photo, and they do. Doesn't work with bees!!

I think this is Helophilus pendulus or Sun-Fly, as they do like sunny days, which this certainly is. Also known as Footballer because of its top. Both appropriate names at the moment.
