Ella’s 27 week Appointment

After visiting Rosalinda and Luis the past weekend, and seeing Emmanuel constantly suck on his hand, we had to laugh as his little cousin was copying him. She was quite the squirmer today. 

I unfortunately didn't get to do my blood sugar test because I forgot I had to fast. I downed a box of chicken minis and a hashbrown from Chick-fil-a  just moments before walking in. Juaquin made fun of me for forgetting.

We did receive news that Ella has a calcium build up in her heart. The doctor preferenced it by saying.that once parents hear what she was about to say, that they stop listening. She said that we needed to understand it's not a big deal, and that she was only mentioning it because she wanted to be cautious. It does not effect the development of the heart at all. All it is, is a soft marker for downs. 

I can honestly say that I wasn't worried. I'd love Ella no matter how she was, so if worse case scenario was downs, it didn't really seem that awful. Juaquin felt the same way. I did go into research mode, but really who wouldn't. Dr. Morales referred us to a specialist that was going to take a closer look at her development, and check for any other markers. If there were none, then we could pretend like it wasn't even there. 

We're praying everything is okay, but somewhere deep inside, I just feel like it already is.
