Stratford on Avon

This morning we crossed the Edford aquaduct and continued to Wilmcote. It was all very flat and there was only one lock to go through. Our original intention was to cruise into Stratford and spend a couple of days there but we heard yesterday that the river festival is taking place this weekend and it will undoubtedly be difficult to get a mooring without a booking. However, we sussed that we could easily get a train there.

So we moored at Wilmcote and went off to catch the train into Stratford. Then we realised that we could catch a hop-on-hop-off at Mary Arden's (Shakespeare's mother) farm which is just up the road. We only had a short wait for the bus and got into Stratford where we had some lunch, and spent the afternoon wandering around the town and down the river. It's been very hot but an enjoyable day, milling around with all the other tourists.

I've added an extra of a swan at the ice cream boat who seems to have become a bit of a personality.
