I haven’t been to the European Parliament in Strasbourg for many years - in fact since Winnie Ewing was an MEP.

I visited her there in 1995 or 1996 when I was SNP Chief Executive and the place has certainly grown since then. .

The new building is beautiful but every visitor must reflect on the extraordinary situation that sees it used only one week out of four.

Anyway it was a very busy and productive day and my thanks to everyone who made it so.
