Echidna

I have rarely seen an echidna because they are shy creatures and hide if they see humans. This one wasn’t worried and came and sat under our table before wandering under the caravan and along the riverbank.

Echidnas are monotremes ( along with platypus). They are egg laying mammals. Very odd.

Today we went riding through town and along an island to where the two rivers meet ( Murray and Darling). This afternoon I went back to my friend Ferna’s place to say farewell before heading north tomorrow. We are planning on going to another National Park ( Mutawintji) north east of Broken Hill so we probably won’t have any phone or internet.
