Gamle Stavanger

We were able to leave the van at the campsite until mid-afternoon so sparing us difficulty in parking. We again cycled into town and parked in one of the many bicycle parks near the centre and headed off to the old town to go to the Norwegian canning museum. It tells the story of Stavanger’s history of producing Sardines and is really well worth a detour. My blip is in the old town looking along the wooden houses with their colourful flower displays. Stavanger is also famous for its street art, with a festival each year at the end of summer, when new works are produced. We spotted quite a lot and I like the bear in the extra. We drove east from Stavanger in the afternoon and eventually found a quite spot to park for the night.
