Haweswater

It can't be a bad day when I get paid for spending the morning here!

The valley was flooded in 1935 to make a reservoir and dry summers like this and dry summers like this brings to mind Alfred Wainwright's words:

"Gone for ever are the quiet wooded bays and shingly shores that nature had fashioned so sweetly in the Haweswater of old; how aggressively ugly is the tidemark of the new Haweswater!"

Our area has water but the problem is that there is a risk that  it can't be purified fast enough to meet demand so I have a bowl in the sink to catch rinsing and hand-washing run-off so that my garden can make use of as much grey water as possible.
