A Plateful of VitaminC

I saw a sight this morning that I haven’t seen for many a week- people sporting umbrellas. For sure they were tourists, the residents don’t consider a smirr of rain in the air worthy of an overcoat far less an umbrella, but visitors from abroad must have wondered if the heavens were going to open. They didn’t, which was probably bad news for lawn keepers whose green swards are fast turning brown, but good news for me when the sun won through and we could unfurl the sunshade again.

The Dower House is awash with fruit, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, plums and nectarines. There is even a melon awaiting dissection. The only disappointment are the ‘ripen in the bowl‘ small red plums. I’m not sure they will ever oblige -they are still as hard as nails.
However they are good for blipping, ripe or not.
