Sitting Pretty

There was no agonizing over my blip today.  After all, what could be prettier than a blue bird, in this case, an Indigo Bunting, sitting on a sunflower.  Please view it in Large.

We went back to the sunflower fields early this morning, this time with a ladder.  I only got a few shots of the Indigo Buntings and this was the best of the lot.  With the help of the ladder I was also able to get a larger view of  a portion of the field. See the extra.  It was a lot less crowded, but almost everyone seemed to remark that it is such a bumper year for them.  They are at least a week early and so incredibly dense and perfect.  I can only believe that all that rain followed by sunny days in June helped considerably.
