A good day for walking

We all slept very well after our long day yesterday, although to be honest I am rather worried about Luke's knee situation and I woke up thinking about it. Murdoch settled so well and we did not hear anything from him until I got up this morning.

We were at the supermarket quite early to get groceries, and then went back home to eat breakfast. After breakfast Gavin, Murdoch and I set off on a good hike - Thomas stayed home as he has hurt his foot and has a very large open blister underneath his foot - however he was happy to do some school work for his project. The walk is a familiar one that we have done many times before, we walk from the apartment up a valley alongside a stream and then as it levels out we walk through the woods before descending from above the village back down into the village. This is the Schwarzee (Black Lake) which we walked past on our hike. In the winter it freezes and there is ice skating on it! My fitbit said the walk today was about 10km long, and Murdoch loved it. There is water all along the way for him to cool off in and drink - see extra. There were also so many butterflies in the wild flowers - having found it impossible to photograph them at home, I managed to get many butterfly photos today as they seem to be slower here! (see extra)

We eventually got back to the village at about 1.30 where we met Thomas for a light lunch on the terrace of one of the restaurants. It was very warm walking up that valley, certainly T shirt and shorts weather, but in the afternoon a cooler wind came up and the light got very flat.

In the afternoon Gavin and I went in to Davos to the pet shop to get Murdoch a new dog bed, as his old one had become very mouldy and manky due to not being used for 3 years. He loves his new bed!

I am also reading all the cabinet changes back home with great interest - Dominic Raab who replaced David Davis as Brexit Secretary is our local MP, so let's hope he can do something to fix the shambles that Brexit has become. Excellent news about all the Thai boys being rescued out from the cave!

Tonight...more of The Crown on Netflix - I am loving it!
