Beside the Thames

I went out with my brother today, first to my favourite town, Henley-on Thames, where we hired a small motor boat for an hour, then to the village of Turville where 'The Vicar of Dibley' and 'Goodnight Mr Tom' were filmed, as were several other films.

We finished up with a brief visit to Marlow where we had a walk by the river. My brother tells me that this bridge was designed as a sort of exercise before the architect went on to build the bridge between Buda and Pest. I will look this up sometime!

This evening some of my family took me out for a birthday meal by the river at Shepperton - my big birthday is tomorrow!

Off to Jersey tomorrow morning, so probably no Blipping for more than a week!
