A visit to Higham Hall

Higham Hall in Cumbria is an adult education centre for day and residential courses. We have both been there several times. Mum regrets that she can no longer manage to go, but her favourite painting tutor was there this weekend, so we made the journey to have lunch with Tiana and her partner, Stephen.

It was a very happy visit. Afterwards, we went to the studio to see what the current students are doing. Here is Marion with a luminous acrylic painting on canvas.

We were home just in time to see the women's final at Wimbledon. It was sad to see Serena Williams struggling to find her form. We missed all the excitement of the earlier men's singles semi, but will watch the final tomorrow.

Margret (next door) 'phoned this evening to say that Daisy had climbed one of her trees and was sitting at the top. Sure enough, there she was, see extra. I talked to her and she talked back. Then she was down the tree and off to the far corner of the garden. She looks well.
