Caricatures

Daniel Villanova, a well-known local comedian, does the kind of caricatural character sketches that go down very well around here. He held court on stage alone for two hours, no props, just an endless stream of stories revolving around very recognisable local characters: grouchy vignerons, the gossipy boulangère, fishermen on the Pointe Courte in Sète -- even if it got a bit repetitive in places, it was fun hearing such recognisable voices and stories, and being able to visualise so well the places they were happening.
