Kayaking, Fishing, Swimming, and Resting

The morning came fast. Mel and dad were up and gone by 5:30 to meet this fishing guide.

Juaquin and I on the other hand were up pretty early, but stayed in bed resting until about 8.

The one thing I neglected to fully comprehend was, we were in a residential area that didn't have many restaurants near by. Also, we were in a condo, meaning no continental breakfasts. I had brought some miscellaneous snacks, but my moms high stress diet disturbed the needed improvising.

Juaquin ran to a taco shop down the road, and had to rush back to make it to our kayak slot. During this time, I tried to explain to mom what kayaking is. I'm not exactly sure what she thought it was but she was convinced she was going to get wet. She finally hesitantly agreed, and I made a quick call to add her.

The moments leading up to kayaking were a little stressful, but as soon as we pushed off the bay, we paddled away from it all. We had to paddle out of the marina, before hitting the wide open lake. Mom kept running into us.

Once we were out on open water, we headed over towards the cliff that our condo was situated on to see the waterfall that fell from the courtyard above.

We then paddled more out to the center. The lake had a light current, and the wakes of the boats gave a fun bumpy ride. The water glistened reflecting many hues of blue. It was simply beautiful.

Mom found that she actually really likes kayaking. Afterwards, she shared that she thought kayaking was kind of like white water rafting. I'm not sure how she got that.

We headed back to the condo after our adventure. We were all hungry, and were eagerly waiting for Dad and Mel to get back so we could go get some lunch. During this time, we relaxed.

Mel and dad got back later than expected. Their fishing guide really liked them, so after fishing, he gave them a full tour of the lake. We listened to their stories. Turns out Melissa out fished dad. Dad only caught one fish, and Melissa five. However, Melissa also reeled in the line, and managed to get the hook stuck in her eyebrow. She's clumsy like that.

We finally headed out to lunch at around 1. I was so hungry! We ate at a BBQ place in town. It was packed, and they had nearly everything you could possibly think of on the menu, including corn nuggets!

With our full bellies we headed back to the condo. After a short rest, we headed out to the pool. It felt great to be in the water! Juaquin and I just hung out talking by the side.

It wasn't long before it was dinner time. I was extremely excited about the restaurant I had found. It turned out to be a dud, at least in my mind.
