Remembrance Day

It was a clear, cold autumn day and just after ten we took Dylan out with a view to ending our walk at the Remembrance Gardens as we do every year on this Sunday.

We met the parade through the town on Guild Street and followed it to Old Town and the gardens where the short service and wreath laying took place, to be followed by a service at Holy Trinity Church. As always there was a very good turnout of local people.

I took quite a few photos, of course, but this trike caught my attention. Parked opposite the gardens, the sign reads "Support Our Troops! Cuz Nobody Else Can Fill Their Boots!" Well done Betty Boop :-)

We were back in time to prepare lunch for our friends Liz and Genny who travelled down from Derby. I made a chestnut and mushroom bake with cranberries, served with a lentil loaf and stuffed peppers left over from the other day. All washed down with a very nice bottle of red. A good time was had by all.
