Cinnamon Bug, Smells Like A Cinnamon Bun?

MrQ got our Avon dinghy out of the shed, blew it up with his compressor, which spooked Ollie dog, filled it with water and got in to cool himself down. I'm hoping to persuade Ollie to join him tomorrow.

Much too hot for serious bug or bird hunting. I snapped this cinnamon bug on a thistle seedhead, wish I'd sniffed it. I've read that it was the Dutch who gave this scentless plant bug its common name as it smells like cinnamon. I thought it was because of its colour.  I think 'scentless' is to distinguish it from shieldbugs which are often called stink bugs.  Interesting to have read too that cinnamon is an effective insect repellent.
