lifestyle litter

I've walked on 3 different beaches today, all of them beautiful.

First was Killinallan, next to our camping spot on the eastern shore of Loch Gruinart, where last night we had watched the sunset and listened to the strange and mournful "singing" of seals. Three miles of beach and hardly any litter and then suddenly this margarine tub in the middle of the sand...it's come all the way from Ireland.

Second was at Sanaigmore, where there is a small art gallery and cafe and the most beautiful beach stones, rounded by years of waves. Here also is a memorial to the victims of a ship which sank in April 1847, carrying people emigrating to Quebec from the terrible famine in Ireland. Read more about it HERE.

Third was at Machir bay, one of my favourite beaches with Atlantic waves.

It's Joe's birthday and we have had no phone reception all day so this evening we drove to Bruichladdich and had a lovely chat with him.

Happy birthday, Joe!
