A Day Worth Recording

One of the unexpected papers that turned up during the weekend's purge was this listing of software I wrote in the 1970's.

Ah, the olden days when you had no more than 26 variables (A...Z), and printouts took 3 days to arrive (because the mainframe, and its printer, was in another college several miles away).  You took great mental care over your software when VDU's hadn't yet been invented; but life was simple.

Now you have deeply complex systems that try and fail to be clever.  Programs used to run when you typed RUN.  Now they say "No. You have an error, even if you haven't; and no, I'm not going to tell you where it is; and yes it will change if you reboot eclipse, no I don't know why either, ask Google."

Karate tonight.  Time to dust off Empi, which J will need for his next belt.
