An ordinary life....

Sunshine, strawberries, champagne and shenanigans

Backblipped 05.08.18

No rest for the wicked.

Up sharp and sleeved rolled up and straight into baking a strawberries and cream Victoria Sandwich cake for Dr T's continued significant birthday celebrations.

LeeAnne arrived with the balloons at 3pm just as I was spreading a vat of whipped double cream onto the cakes and filling with said strawberries.

Balloons inflated, banners up, cake done, LeeAnne and I felt we had earned ourselves  wee refreshment in the sunshine.  Dr T arrived a short time later and we switched to champagne.

And so began the laughter and celebration.

At 6.30pm we all disappeared upstairs and emerged a short while later  ready to party.  David got us ushered into the car and was more than happy to deposit up at our local Italian Deli where our table was booked for 7.30pm.

In full celebration mode as we entered the place, our bums were hardly in our seats when Frank the manager sent over complimentary glasses of Prosecco.    What a star :-))

The next few hours passed in a blur of fabulous food, fabulous service, fabulous fun and just general fabulousness!  not sure that's a word but it fits the occasion .

No room for dessert but an Irish coffee hot the spot before David returned to herd us back into the car and home.

Celebrations continued in the balloon filled and banner draped living room where Lola joined us for a little while but was going nuts at the balloons so David took her back to the garden room.  Her wee face through the glass door was a picture as she watched us making us feel guilty for not including her.  That said, a dog biscuit or four and she was soon snuggled on the sofa beside D.

The evening ended just before 2am, although for LeeAnne it ended about an hour earlier when the feather filled cushions on the sofa engulfed her and forced her to nod off.  We may have missed her chat but her snoring funny little sleep noises made for an amusing our for Gail and I.

Thank you ladies for another great evening.  Love the bones of you pair!
