A wee drouth...

For some reason the urge to consume chilled still water has been strong today.  

Alan was so excited yesterday when he found out that not only were Gail and LeeAnne staying over last night, they were going swimming with him today.  Cue mega excitement!

After some coffee and cereal, it was swim time and Alan was in his element in the pool with Shelley, Gail and LeeAnne.  Lots of splashing and laughter and McFly, Busted and Abba blaring out of the sound system.  Just needed some poolside cocktails but don't think any of us were up for that.

We were up for a cooked brunch though so whilst they got dried, I got started on the food prep.  We all enjoyed that followed by more coffee and a slice of Victoria sponge birthday cake.

All too soon it was time for LeeAnne and Gail to head off.  Time really does fly by when good times are being had!

Alan was exhausted after all the excitement in the pool so nodded off in his chair.  David sneaked off to the driving range and I nodded off in my chair too.  For two hours!!  Good times are also very energy intensive!

David returned and I cooked us a belated anniversary dinner of fillet of beef with dauphinois potatoes, carrots, broccoli and kale.  Enjoyed that with a fine Merlot whilst watching the Meryl Street/ Hugh Grant film Florence, Foster Jenkins, which we both enjoyed.

Going to the cinema to see Mamma Mia II tomorrow.  Really looking forward to it.
