Into the Water

... eventually! After the density of compass jellyfish had thinned a little! There were dozens when I arrived on the beach soon after 5.30pm - and only inches between them. So I lay and read a while, then returned to the sea around 6-ish. There were still a few around - all of the same sort you see here (Chrysaora hysoscella), but many were smaller and paler, to the point of being transparent.

Still, I swam! And, thankfully, I didn't brush up against any stinging tendrils. And I did enjoy another chunk of my book. (It's well written; I just hope it has a satisfying denouement! Time will tell.)
