1st day

Lovely lazy start at the local diner getting a classic french toast, bacon and maple syrup breakfast - yum!
Then took a walk through Fort Tryon park and the neighbourhood (blazingly hot!) before heading down on the train to 81st Street and browsing the New York Historical Society museum (very good short films about the city and about women’s role in it’s development) with gorgeous Tiffany glass exhibition and a lovely section on Bill Cunningham the milliner and street photographer who seemed just lovely.
Felt a bit wiped out so we went and sat in Central Park by the lake and just relaxed and watched the turtles, the people and the view for a while before heading back home. We enjoyed margaritas, chips and dips and chatted to the waiter then shopped for some things for dinner with L back at the flat.
Faded fast about 9pm so an early night.....the tempo will pick up by tomorrow I suspect!
