Wytham Woods

We were up early to finish packing and tidying our holiday cottage, before departing for our journey to Oxford.  Like last year we travelled past Stonehenge and were again amazed at the number of people there visiting – far more than in my blip of last year.  Our journey was not all that fast, so we stopped at a service area and it felt like we had a picnic on a roundabout!  Thankfully it wasn’t too much further to Oxford where we were visiting friends.

We had a lovely afternoon in Wytham Woods, followed by a  welcome drink in a nearby hostelry.  It was then home for pimms and dinner and much chatting.  However, unlike in previous years we were all very sensible and went to bed at a reasonable time.  I blame the heat, rather than old age!

Here’s the greenery of the woods which are owned by the University of Oxford.
