Jesus, Mary & Joseph

Just back from a very full on few days in North Cork. Himself did a truly enormous walk from Ballyvourney to Millstreet and I went well hunting.  All wells were extremely obscure (apart from this one) but I think I can now tick 12 off!  It all started off very badly when my GPS went wonky - disaster and much appalling language. But - calling at the first house for instructions, I was ushered in by Dora who fed me tea and cake  and then donned her wellies and took me down to her well. Where we both promptly nearly got stuck - but that's another story.

This well just made us gasp. Newly restored, we were left a little speechless at the statues. (And what are they looking at, Jesus is in Mary's arms?) Actually a very old site, see extra, I can't feel that the statuary are a huge improvement. I can say that here but will have to be tactful on my blog I fear. It's a St John's Well in case you were wondering - of course you were.

And another thank you to Jo for doing such a great job on my profile on the community page. Ooof. All those nice comments. Thanks so much.
