All laid out

Amidst a busy afternoon of sight seeing, we took in the Mount Ainslie Lookout, giving us a good sense of Canberra as a planned city, based on the original 1913 plan (although this link indicates that may not be the whole story...). In addition, this morning, we wandered around the National museum peninsula by Lake Burley Griffin, and this afternoon also took in the lakeside suburb of Kingston, the Capital Brewing Company, probably the coolest place in Canberra which is literally in a shed in a trading estate, and an excellent Thai meal. We also saw SW's new, but still pretty empty, house. Her stuff is mainly still on the high seas, and isn't due in Canberra until early September.

The weather was bright during the day, but with a cold wind and - this evening once it had got dark - absolutely freezing.

I've opened a new album on flickr.
