An ordinary life....

Picture of Innocence...

The men were playing in a golf medal this morning, being joined with another friend Stephen, who was driving up to join them.   I looked out the bedroom window at 7.00am to a scene that can only be described as dreich!   Given that two (possibly three) out of the four playing are fair-weather golfers, it didn't bode well.

I went back to bed and my alarm woke me again at 9am, just as David was leaving the room.  He confirmed that the golf was going ahead.  I reset my alarm for 10am and promptly fell asleep.

Up, showered and downstairs for coffee and a bagel with Ele and Agnes.  Alan was already off out to Livingston with Ally.   The weather really was miserable, so dark, dull and wet so the three of us were happy to sit in the garden room chatting and watching the European Championships, mainly the diving.  Felt so sorry for the GB girls in the synchronised 3m springboard event, who lost the Gold medal on their final dive, having led all the way.  They didn't even have to have a perfect dive to secure the gold but it all went wrong and they slipped from 1st to 4th place.

The rain started bouncing down at 2.00pm so I texted David to check if they were still playing golf (I fully expected them to have given up and be back in the clubhouse) and if so, when would they be finished.  He confirmed they were still playing and that they were all soaked to the skin.  He thought they would be home around 3.30pm.

I decided to make a large pot of homemade macaroni cheese for their return, as I felt they would be in need of comfort food.  Sure enough they returned soaked through (but surprisingly had played well) and hungry and after warm showers and a change of clothes, the mac cheese was enjoyed.

Stephen headed home, followed a short time later by the rest of the gang.  We have had a very lazy evening since and Lola has been sleeping for hours after a very exciting couple of days with lots of people to amuse her.

This is her if I stare at you long enough, perhaps you will share your treat with me? expression :-))
