Mensch

According to Leo Rosten, the Yiddish maven and author of The Joys of Yiddish, a "mensch" is "someone to admire and emulate, someone of noble character. The key to being 'a real mensch' is nothing less than "character, rectitude, dignity, a sense of what is right, responsible, decorous." The term is used as a high compliment, implying the rarity and value of that individual's qualities.

This man is a mensch. The Yoga Mama and I decided it over lunch in Mill Hill Broadway and this makes it official.

We drove up. The Yoga Mama said she would meet us in Budapest, but it turns out she meant Brewed and Pressed, a hearty vegan and vegetarian cafe style eatery (which I would recommend, particularly the raw deserts). This was good as we were running late and Budapest is a different junction of the M25.

Worked on the new shelves when we got home, and fixed a crate to the conservatory wall. The Italian Olive is lovely, beautifully grained and smells sweet when cut.

Good day.
