Macro Workshop

B and I were treated to some very personal photographic attention yesterday.  The Macro workshop (one of a series being held free by our Camera Club) had been postponed due to rain but we couldn’t make the new date so P and L put on a special session just for us two, which was extremely kind and generous of them.  Various set-ups had been laid out in the garden, frogs, wasps, flowers (complete with bees and hover-flies), to name just a few.  So, after a short presentation on equipment, settings, hints and tips etc. we went into their garden (which is a wonderful wildlife haven) and took some macro shots, some hand-held, some with a tripod.  It was fun and informative and I learnt how to focus accurately using my live view screen.
The frogs were gorgeous so, like B, I have made a frog photo my main blip but I have also added a hoverfly and a wasp tucking into some pear as extras.
We are very grateful to P and L for being so generous with their time and for their expert tuition, they are both brilliant wildlife photographers and often win competitions and are greatly respected for their work.
We had a great evening and really enjoyed the convivial conversation we all had afterwards too.
