Aliens

We ventured out to Lenwade this afternoon with a picnic, our books and a couple of empty ice-cream tubs.  Before we took a stroll along Marriotts Way, I filled one of the tubs with blackberries :-)

The old railway line passes close to Lenwade Lakes, crossing the river there were great swathes of Himalayan Balsam.  Great spectacle that it is, this alien plant out-competes the natives which is not so good.

After a spell on the allotment - garlic, carrots and spuds plus some shed treatment painting - I'm making bramble jelly .... must be nearly sponge pudding season!
