Alentejano Summer

Typical landscape at the moment - dry, dry, dry, scattered holm oaks and some sheep. On our way to Spain to fill the car and buy dog food, significantly cheaper there. Obviously more prosperous as soon as you cross the border, huge swathes of irrigated fruit trees and pig production (did you know there are more pigs than people in Spain now?). Rumbling of thunder, bit scary - no sign of rain, and lightning would be terribly dangerous with everything so dry.

Getting ready to go off in the morning again, for our annual conference for the Portugal field, up north this year.

Also a lot of communication with Trapiá (NE Brazil), situation pretty dire at the moment. So glad Julia and Beth can be there to encourage - right people at right time.

And Paul has booked his and Ju's tickets to come in September - can't wait! Se Deus quiser.
