Rocky Mountain Moments

Yellow-rumped Warbler

Posting a day late for Sunday...

I've been following these guys around since we got here and finally got a decent shot.  I always look forward to seeing them here in August before they fly south for the winter.  He does have a yellow rump but it can't be seen from this angle.

Becky and Darrin left after a late breakfast this morning.  There are two ways to get home and they always drive through Rocky Mountain National Park over Trail Ridge Road, the highest paved road in the United States.  It's also narrow with tight curves so we never go that way with the trailer.  We had a great time with them and were sorry to see them go!

The rest of the day was quiet.  We had a campfire but it was out and we were inside by 9 p.m. and in bed soon after.

I am grateful that the kids got home safely and found their garden still in good shape after the terrible storm in Longmont the night before!
