Introducing...

Charlie :)

Before I went on holiday I knew I’d like to have another cat….so the Saturday before, I visited the local Cats Protection and fell in love with this little lady!  They said if she wasn’t reserved on Sunday at 2.30pm I could call them to reserve and the rest is history…

But not quite!

I went to collect her yesterday….

Just as I was taking the basket from the Cat Assistant – the basket fell open and Charlie streaked through the door of the kitchen there and disappeared! 

Unfortunately, the window was open, and we all assumed that she had got out :(

So the big hunt started – leafleting through neighbours' doors, looking high and low in the extensive grounds.  No sign was found, so I was advised to go home….

I couldn’t bear to be at home, so I went into town, where I was going to have my nails done anyway and then to the supermarket to stock up.
Whilst I was shopping I got a call to say they’d set traps in the grounds and around and many volunteers were coming to spend their evenings looking for her.

I couldn’t face being home alone last night, but knew I didn’t want to say anything on Blip or anywhere last night so I just emailed and messaged a few close friends to let them know.  TV was on randomly and I read my kindle most of the evening and night til about 1am.

I slept a short few hours and then lay in bed reading, resting this morning. 

At 9.15am I got a call from Cats Protection!   They had Charlie and could I collect her as soon as possible…so I expected she’d been caught in a trap – BUT she wasn’t!

The cheeky monkey had slipped between fridge and sink cupboard in her fright – and disappeared through a hole in the cupboard wall to under the sink!  Its so odd that I leant against that very cupboard yesterday….  I’m going to have to watch that lady like a hawk!

Anyway she’s here now – having spent some time racing around my bedroom and sleeping (and now hiding underneath a chest of drawers in the most dustiest place possible) :)

And I’m exhausted just writing this!

Back to work tomorrow….
