Berry Red Jet

I have spent quite a bit of time on the road today as I've collected my sister from Burnham-on-Crouch and taken her to Stansted. We went the 'pretty' way as there were terrible traffic jams owing to trouble on the M25 and M11.

I'm a a bit annoyed as I missed a Spitfire, which has flown over here twice, because I had the wrong lens on. The same thing happened this afternoon with two different Jet Provosts. I snapped the red one through the elderberries with my macro lens.

I've added a black beetle that I found on a knapweed seedhead to extras. I haven't been able to positively identify it but it could be Amara familiaris or Calathus fuscipes.
