Young, gifted and red

Not a great day here, so it was late afternoon when I finally left the house and went down to the Black Lynn to check up on what Himalayan Balsam to aim for when we have our final chop next Sunday.

I did what I'd set out to do, but also got seriously distracted by meeting various people and totally forgot to find a subject for my Blip.

I was left with what I could could find outside and settled for this brand new leaf on my potted plant of what is probably Schefflera macrophylla, though I still have to confirm the name. The plant was a gift from my friend Jim Taggart, and was grown from seed collected by his late son Jamie in Vietnam.

The extra shows the leaves when mature.
