La Vie à Quatre Roues! Jour 4

Le Grand Éléphant, Les Machines de L’Île, Nantes

From the campsite, we took the tram into the centre of Nantes, where we walked around the castle ramparts (first extra), visited the cathedral, and had lunch at a pavement cafe, surrounded by half-timbered medieval houses. The weather was on the cool side, all the locals were in coats, but at least it didn’t rain!

The highlight of our day in Nantes though was a visit to Les Machines de L’Île, and a ride on Le Grand Éléphant around the former docks. My second extra shows the elephant up to its tricks. One young girl was drenched from head to toe! In my extra collage you can see pics from inside the elephant, as well as an Elephant’s ear view of Nantes!

(Thank you for your kind comments and stars for yesterday’s blip. Sorry for my absence, if I’m lucky enough to find WiFi then I only have about 5mins to upload before we’re off again. A backblip posted on Jour 7 from Chinon; details are brief as we see and do so much each day that I can’t even remember what happened yesterday!)
