La Vie à Quatre Roues! Jour 5

Béhuard, Maine-et-Loire

A day travelling east, following the Loire river.

First stop was St Florent Le Vieil (first extra) where we climbed up to the abbey church giving us views up and down the valley. It was here that we came across the first of hundreds of cyclists following the famous cycle route that follows the entire length of the Loire.

Second stop was Béhuard, a tiny medieval village on an island in the middle of the Loire river, that has grown up around an ancient chapel dedicated to sailors. Such a peaceful place to wander, one of my favourite discoveries so far...

Final stop and our camp for the night was Angers, where we took the bus into the city and followed a walking trail around the old town, passing the castle and cathedral (final extras) to name just two of the sights. Aperitifs in the square before heading back to camp...

(Thank you for your kind comments, stars and hearts for yesterday’s blip. Sorry for my absence, if I’m lucky enough to find WiFi then I only have about 5mins to upload before we’re off again. A backblip posted on Jour 8 from Azay-le-Rideau.)
