Spindle berries

Made sure I got out for a walk in today's bright sunshine.

Saw lots of these pink and orange berries. I had to look them up to find out what they were. They are spindle berries (from Euonymus europaeus). According to Wikipedia, 'the fruit is poisonous, containing, amongst other substances, the alkaloids theobromine and caffeine, as well as an extremely bitter terpene. Poisonings are more common in young children, who are enticed by the brightly-coloured fruits. Ingestion can result in liver and kidney damage and even death'. A case of look (or blip), but don't touch!
