Watching the trains go by

Another sunny day on the Talyllyn.  An early turn, guarding two round trips before a mid-afternoon finish.  It's the last day of peak service, with three trains running simultaneously and a total of eight round trips on offer.  Down to five from tomorrow and just two trips when we are here again in October.  In the peak service there are up to four crossings per trip, here we watch as Number 4, Edward Thomas, passes our train, headed by Number 2, Dolgoch, named after the location where I worked yesterday.

An early finish gave me time to go looking for good places to pick blackberries, there's a good crop here, just ripening.  Hoping to pick some Tuesday to take home and turn into Bramble Jelly.  I saw plenty of flutterbies again, all nectaring frantically before the cooler weather returns.

Out for a meal at a friends tonight.  Nice.
