What Joy! The Autumn Joy is Blooming!

Dear Diary,

If I could have only one fall bloomer in the garden it would be an Autumn Joy sedum.  The little star-like blossoms in their clusters attract dozens of bees and the color is a perfect prelude to the reds, yellows and oranges of the trees.  They are very drought tolerant too which is a good thing because we are in the September dry spell we get each year.

Our cool mornings are so welcomed after the heat wave but, of course, summer hasn't given up altogether.  Next week we will be heating up again but for now, Emerson and I are sure enjoying these lower temperatures!
