Never running dry

It was a fairly wine (and rain) -themed day...

Another good sleep at K's, leaving us feeling well rested for the adventures ahead (we needed to be...). K took us to the Adelaide Parklands Terminal to drop our luggage, and then dropped us at the market where there were numerous places to have coffee, and numerous photo opportunities. Just as well, as it was starting to rain outside. We picked a Hungarian place for an excellent bun and coffee, and were offered the opinion of the proprietor that Australians really don't know how to roast coffee. By then the rain was starting to settle in.

We wandered through the CBD, which isn't particularly scenic, but is none the less quite interesting, and in a bag shop (where we didn't buy anything), we got some advice on the best wine bar to while away a few hours - East End Cellars. I also bought some new trainers - they've been much better for my feet since I put them on.

As we sat in East End Cellars, the rain came on harder and harder, but there was a bit of gap allowing us to get to the National Wine Centre for the reception and dinner, before we were bused back to the train (see extra).

First impressions of the train - very very bumpy. And a pretty "cosy" cabin. Early impressions of the fellow guests. Primarily Australian retirees - and fewer international travellers than we expected. We enjoyed a drink in the bar before retiring to be bounced up and down all night. Fitbit didn't register a single minute of sleep...
