One left behind

On the way to Tarbert this morning for our monthly constituency association meeting  - in better weather than that on our return it has to be said -  a number of us had been discussing the continued increase in traffic on all the Cal Mac ferry routes , including this one  on Loch Fyne.

Inevitably that has led to some people being unable to make the crossings they wished at the time they wished.   A problem of success for the ferry operator, but a problem none the less.

The wee vessel that plies between Portavadie and Tarbert can take a maximum of 12 cars and that was the number waiting when we returned to the pier  (as foot passengers fortunately)  for the 3.15  sailing.

But there must have ben 13 hoping to  cross  because when I looked back a couple of minutes after leaving there was this one white car still on the slipway.   I didn't see if it had arrived just after we had departed or if it had been the unlucky final vehicle in the queue  but the wait wouldn't be to long as it is an hourly service.
