Garden Spider

Started the day off with Kent helping Jim to remove the silt fencing the D.O.T. had put up in the front triangle two years ago when they widened the shoulder of the road.  They never bothered removing the steel stakes and silt fencing like they should.

As you can see by the fingers for comparison, this was no small garden spider!  He was in the way of where they were working so he was carefully relocated to another area.

Now that this area has finally been cut back where we can see the ground properly and look for snakes, I took a trash bag and collected the worst of the rubbish; glass & plastic bottles, beer cans, wrappers and general junk.

It's nice to see that area cleaned up again and looking like it should.  Spirit & MiniMe were out there with us.

Afterwards I spent some time sitting out back and saw the hummingbirds drinking from the canna lilies!  I didn't manage to get a photo of it but got one of a female as she scouted the area.  See extra.

I spent far too long outside and was out long enough that all the icepacks in my cooling vest were long past melted.  As a result I have been totally whipped this evening and have trouble staying awake to get this blip done!
